Trouble Ahead As Oversupply Hits Home

APHC is warning that the cool-down in the plumbing industry is reaching a critical stage. Although many factors have contributed to the cool-down, APHC believes the issue of oversupply is the major factor. Clive Dickin, APHC’s Chief Executive, comments:

 

“I am speaking to members about the slowdown they are experiencing and it is not uncommon for them to report that where they previously had waiting times for their customers of five to six months, now it’s more like two or three weeks. “I believe this is partly due to an economic slowdown and higher interest rates but it is mainly because so many newly qualified plumbers and also plumbers from other European countries have entered the industry.”
