SEC Group welcomes enquiry into construction

“This is an excellent initiative being carried at an entirely opportune moment,” commented SEC Group chairman Trevor Hursthouse.

“With so many major infrastructure projects under way – not least those connected with the 2012 London Olympics – the construction industry is in an unprecedented position to confront many of the challenges created by climate change and the search for sustainable solutions throughout the built environment.”

Mr Hursthouse added that SEC Group was committed to promoting best practice at every stage of the supply chain, and thus delivering best value to all construction clients.

“We will therefore be engaging fully with the review process, and are already – well in advance of the 4 May deadline – preparing evidence that will greatly assist the select committee in its deliberations,” said Mr Hursthouse.
