New APHC President Inaugurated At Successful National Event
Harry Pooley has been inaugurated as President of the Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors (APHC). He succeeds Glen Evans and can expect a hectic year of events and engagements. Harry comments:
“It is an honour to be President of this Association and I intend to use my position to ensure our members and the industry at large continue to recognise the need for change and the need to champion training as a way of moving our industry forward. I want to see more apprentices in our industry and for engineers to strive for the highest level of skills and qualification they can achieve.”
Harry was inaugurated during APHC’s National Plumbing and Heating Weekend, which was held over 22-23 June in Torquay. The event was a resounding success according to all those who attended. APHC members enjoyed a series of seminars which addressed important industry issues, with the keynote speaker, Simon Bartley of SummitSkills, giving a fascinating overview of the changing face of education and training in the building services sector.
Members were also able to talk to major suppliers at a free exhibition before enjoying the Annual Dinner, where Michael Portillo entertained guests with stories from his wide-ranging career, as well as his views on current political developments.
