Graham Beevers has been inaugurated as President of the Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors (APHC). He succeeds Harry Pooley and can expect a busy 12 months of events and engagements. Graham comments:
“
I am thrilled to become the President of the Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors. I intend to use my year in office to ensure that the fight against rogue trainers continues, and that our members are recognised for their skill and ability in the plumbing and domestic heating industry as being well trained and qualified plumbers going down a well established route of education and not through accelerated learning providers.”
Graham was inaugurated during APHC’s largest ever National Plumbing and Heating Weekend, which was held over 13 – 14th June in Leeds. The event was a resounding success according to all those who attended. Guests enjoyed a series of seminars which addressed important industry issues, with the keynote speaker, Les Philpott from the HSE, talking about general health and safety requirements and corporate responsibility as well as the gas installer registration scheme.
Guests were also able to talk to major suppliers at a free exhibition before enjoying the Annual Dinner, where The Right Honourable Dr John Reid MP, entertained guests with stories from his wide-ranging career, as well as his views on current political developments.
