HOT AND COLD DECEMBER IS NOW AVAILABLE

This month we discuss plans to extend greater assistance to our major contractor members into 2010 and also plans to get the industry as a whole working together in a Licence to Practise scheme. We have also included helpful advice from our Head of Industrial Relations on Redundancy,  a topic that has affected a significant number of members and created confusion.

December also sees the launch of the new APHC Fuel card benefit – provided by the fuel card people, members can make a 2-3p saving off the forecourt price using the new card. See the enclosed details on how to apply.

There is a review of the SkillPLUMB competition where the best apprentices in the UK competed for the title of SkillPLUMB Champion 2009. Finally, there is the usual Association and Industry news including a sneak peak of the new Qualification Credit Framework and changes to the Construction Act.

If you have any stories, news or views you would like us to consider for inclusion in Hot & Cold, please do not hesitate to contact us either on 0121 711 5030 or via email at: hot&cold@aphc.co.uk
