CHN MOVES INTO FACILITIES MANAGEMENT – FOR E.ON
CHN Technical Services, part of Energy Services, is taking over the maintenance of our 98 buildings across the Uk from the 1st July, replacing current contractor Inviron. To ensure continuity of service, consultations have already started to transfer current Inviron technicians to E.ON as CHN employees.
CHN specialises in complete gas heating, plumbing and electrical services to local authorities, housing associations and developers, as well as providing service and maintenance of mechanical and electrical services in commercial properties.
“The opportunities within the social housing market are restricted to the current economic climate” said Mike Goldsmith, Head of CHN. “The UK facilities management market is estimated to be worth £862m in the UK and by working in partnership with Business Services, we will be well placed to use our technical expertise to enter this market.
Gill Hill, Facilities Operations Manager in Business Services said “ We are really pleased to be able to establish this partnership and the opportunity to launch a platform to expand CHN’s operations, as well as enabling Business Services to channel our maintenance spend back into the E.ON group of companies. It’s given us all a real sense that we are Changing Energy!”
The contract will be managed by CHN’s Kevin McCallister who has recently been nominated for the role of National President of the Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors. “By taking the contract in-house we will be able to ensure that E.ON’s world class safety standards and work ethic are maintained, “he said... “The employees directly affected are very positive about becoming part of E.ON and are even helping to decide on their new uniform”.
