With the inception of the Home Information Pack (HIP) and the legal framework of conveyancing solicitors undertaking searches prior to the exchange of property sale contracts, the need to notify or certificate through a Competent Persons Scheme has become essential.
As a plumbing and heating engineer, you must gain Building Regulations Approval for all relevant works undertaken in a domestic property. You can either contact your local building control department, which is time-consuming and costly, or you can use a Competent Persons Scheme, a much easier and more cost-effective option.
APHC's Competent Persons Scheme offers consumers the peace of mind that the works undertaken will meet with Building Regulations approval, allowing the smooth sale of domestic property.
From £50 (+ VAT) per month, the Scheme offers plumbers and heating engineers the opportunity to save themselves time and money, and to provide their customers with that peace of mind.
Approximately 90% of works undertaken in the domestic home by a plumbing or heating engineer require notification to building control or certification through a Competent Persons Scheme.
Joining could never be easier or more cost effective with APHC's Competent Persons Scheme and the costs can be recouped from the customer with a modest £25.00 certification charge. With the average plumbing and heating contractor doing 40 projects per year this modest charge can allow a contractor to pay the certificate fee, the cost of the scheme and training costs to ensure best practice and standards are achieved.
